Finally got some pics sent to me from my Dad. Here is how the restoration is currently going on my 1970 Road Runner with original Plum Crazy Purple paint code and a 440 in it. The paint has been stripped off now. After stripping the paint down, it looks as if she has been a few different colors since that original Plum Crazy. It is looking like that paint was hiding quite a bit more than I first suspected. Not anything too major, just want her looking perfect. Looks like AMD is getting a very good customer. Ordered all the replacement sheetmetal that was needed today. So hopefully that will be coming in soon. Hopefully over the weekend the motor and tranny will be getting pulled out to get cleaned up and overhauled where needed. Also over the weekend all the chrome will be getting pulled off to get sent off to be re-chromed and fixed as needed. I think all I will be doing to the interior for now is replacing the carpet while everything is torn apart. Probably going to need to save up a little more after all this is finished and do it a little later down the road. I will try to post up pics as I receive them.
***I have now added the pics to the thread below.***

Please tell me what you think. I am sure everyone here loves some good car ****. haha

Nice project, thanks for sharing!
That car looked pretty decent on the before pictures, how are the frame rails?
Can you add the pictures to the thread, it will be easier to follow?

The frame rails look pretty good. The only real issues were the normal ones, floor pans, trunk pans, little bit of quarter panel work, and other little touch ups. The engine on it definitely needs some cleaning up, but it runs great. I will add the pics to this thread. Thanks for the response.

Here are some of the pics of her naked. She is a little shy, but she let me put them up here.

Is the dash painted silver or is that just a reflection?

I was a little surprised by that myself. I am not too sure, because I haven't actually seen the car in person myself. My Dad is taking care of everything while I am still here in Korea.

Good bye rear window channel :sad2:

Yea, it is pretty wrecked. From what I was told, it was just some bondo holding the rear window in. Glad I decided to have the car completely stripped down.

Korea? I did not know you still where there;-)
(This is what happens when you combine Gin and internet, bad jokes...)
But I have spend 4 hours today on the car so I am worth it!

hi nice project good luck and thanks for serving your country , good luck over there :headbang:

Dude, Why are you wasting your time, money and efforts on a sub-standard job of SANDING paint off/down??? And, what kind of 'shop' is doing this, and NOT sending the body and parts out for a professional media blasting? Sorry to say, but, you got to take that car COMPLETELY apart, everything, to a bare shell...look at my pics on my website for some ideas...best of luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I will take that into consideration and talk to my Dad about it. I know they were still not completely finished with stripping her down yet. My Dad just got back from vacation and stopped by and I was going crazy for some new pics. I will ask him what the end goal is though.

Good project lots of work to do but will be a ride you'll be proud of when completed.. Please do, keep us updated, i agree with the media blasting, you wouldn't be sorry! good luck.

I agree in the long run you will be glad you media blasted this car. No sense having problems surface in a couple of years that weren't known about now.

Go read my Media Blasting thread here on fbbo, I've seen this happen too many times first hand; that is the owner puts his heart into the car, trusting a person/shop to do the work needed/required, money is exchanged, some work is done, perhaps and too often not done too well, or as good as it could have been done. There is no other result other than frustration, anger, and ill-will! To be blunt and honest and frank with you, pictures tell 1000 words, and, frankly, these pictures scream rookie, novice and aimlessness, and lack of planning. I'm only saying this to be professional, and not personal as too often BBS rants turn into (one of the many reasons I love fbbo, that crap isn't here). You need to get this car in the hands of professionals asap. To sand like this and NOT take off the doors, and even fenders, let alone leaving the door handles on and turn signal lamps installed is absolutely unforgivable! There is NO 'cheap' or fast way to do this sort of work. You're going to hate yourself after. Media blasting will find weak areas of metal that hand sanding never will, and the mess, omg, what a mess! Send the mess to the blaster. I tend to this mess every 3 months or so cleaning out my dust collector, but, that's my lane, and my lane will deliver super clean, rust free, paint and filler free metal! It may be junk metal, but, it's clean, and you know where you stand!
