1970 Roadrunner-Steering column question

I have manual steering in my 1970 Roadrunner- It's a original power steering car (per broadcast sheet). I have the power steering box and power steering pump. Just wondering if anyone knows if the steering column needs to be shorter or is it interchangable?

The shaft out of the column needs to be shortened to use a power box with your manual column.
