Hi all. Closing in on the finish. My research says striker is color car and latch assembly, link, lever, and spring are unpainted. My latch and spring are overpainted PlumCrazy. My lever and link are unrestored.

I will blast the spring, latch assembly, link and lever. How can I get them to look 'natural' again? I'm worried not coating them with something will lead to rust. Is that true? If so I'm thinking my options are to clear coat them, paint them 'silver' or something natural looking, or powder coating them grey or whatever I can get to look natural.

Any help here appreciated. Thanks. M

Also I wanted Magnums in either 17 or 18 but allowed myself to get talked into billet 'rallye' wheels 18". They looked ugly, didn't look like the original rallye wheels and more importantly the center inserts/caps didn't fit properly and the 'fix' looked very difficult or practically impossible.

So I have a new set of Coker BFG 18" redlines and wheels I can't use. It appears the 17" would look best on the car IMO. I have a set of 15" x 7" reproduction steel wheels with the center inserts and beauty rings to fall back on. Any suggestions for wheels and tires would be appreciated. M

I wish I could remember where I saw it but there is a brush on coating that leaves everything natural and protects it, I believe its either a type of wax or lube. If I find it I'll link it to here.
