Up for sale is a numbers matching 1971 Dodge Charger
Purchased new from Wheaton Dodge in Maryland on Nov 30 1970
I purchased this car from the original owner 2 years ago.
he told me that when he ordered the car he had a strict budget and so he ordered a base Charger with all the go Fast options he could afford .These included a N code 383 Magnum 4bbl with a 727 Transmission and a 323 Posi rear Dual exhaust , 15 inch G-60-15 Goodyear polyglass tires and air conditioning .
The car is a striking B5 blue exterior with a equally striking B5 blue interior , this is a nice color combination .
The car is complete and unmodified with the following exceptions
the spare tire is not the correct wheel , there is a steel a/c line to the condenser that is missing and the original Holley carb is missing , there is a performer carb on it now.
In the trunk you will find all the seat belts , the kick panels , the door sills and all the jacking equipment and original trunk mat.
This car needs a full cosmetic restoration there are several areas of rust through along with the obvious surface rust.
those areas are trunk floor , lower quarter panels and roof rain gutters .Front fenders are in poor shape as well. There is a 5 x 5 inch area on the drivers floor as well.
The unibody and frame work are in good condition with no rust through , this is a good sturdy platform to work with.
I have done the following work ;
The brakes were gone through , all the lines both steel and rubber were replaced . the wheel cylinders , master cylinder and calipers were all replaced ,The rotors were turned . I replaced the wheel bearings, races and seals.
The lower ball joints were changed and front end inspected and greased.
Four new 225 70 R15"s were put on , the front end was aligned.
I replaced the Fuel pump and all the fuel lines both steel and rubber front to back. The gas tank and emission canister were removed cleaned and flushed , The fuel gauge works !
I changed the oil and filter and Tuned up the engine including Points , cap and rotor ,spark plug wires and all filters . The engine needs belts I never got around to that .
The radiator was flushed and the water pump was changed along with the t-stat and hoses.
This car is road ready with exception of the belts .
If you would like to hear the car run there is a short video on you tube at the following link .
Last but not least I have the original Title and window Sticker along with the last registration , vin and fender tag are both present and readable
If you have any questions pm Steve
