1971 charger taillights

I have a '71 charger and have a couple minor issues with the rear tailights.I was wondering where I could buy taillight bulb sockets,without having to replace the tailight housing assembly.everyone I talk to says I have to replace the housing assemblies to get the bulb sockets.any info would be great. Thanks

Anything is possible with a little ingenuity! Don't know if you could buy new sockets, but i'm sure you could probably find some good used ones online or other sources. Brazing, low temp tac welds or even epoxy puddy might be an option..

I would try and use a late model plastic twist in socket. My 72 had what looked to be a good socket but didnt work. the grounding surface was bad. Looking back if i had taken the hole socket out and modified the hole in the housing to use the newer socket then all you need to do is run the ground wire to a good ground.
