hey guys i'm currently selling my car on ebay i built the car the way i wanted to build it i've had many people send some nasty messages on ebay so i figured ill try my luck on here. Its a 71 charger i got a couple years ago i put a low milage drivetrain out of a 67 imperial in it 440 engine 727 trans and 294 sure grip 8 3/4 rear . i stayed with that rear cause i made this car to drive distances i commute about 150 miles a day round trip so on those nice summer days i like to take the charger once awhile. check out this link on ebay and yes those are 69 cougar taillights flipped upside down i didnt modify the bumper or car to use them so the stock lights can go in with no problem i also have a rally dash and stock slap stick shifter assembly for the car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971...4865743?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3cbfbce64f

thank you i totally dont like the stock lights and r/t lights are crazy expensive hell i'm use to doing corvettes and thought they were pricey for parts until i did an old mopar

I don't understand why you would be getting nasty messages. I thought the car was going to be hideous and/or altered beyond repair, but it looks fairly stock. A set of front and rear spoilers would REALLY set that car off! Best of luck with it!

i didnt read your entire post here, but i saw your pics and thought... man those look like cougar taillights lol.. nice creativity, good luck on your sale.

Now I'm going to have to look for a set of Cougar lights for my 73.

Man, those taillights look crazy cool. Let me guess, got bagged on about the twin stick shifter or the Chevy engine compartment? LOL. Just kidding ya, good luck on the sale. She looks sweet.

your car looks nice to me, really like the tail lights!!
any interest in tradeing for a Harley Softail?

what year softtail. and no acturally noone commented on the column shift or black engine compartment. i'm acturally looking for the collar for the column or a whole column if anyone know where i can pick one up thanks

I do not understand why nasty comments would be left behind. The car looks great. While the word "restored" should have not be used. It still looks good.

Restored would be all the parts the car came with and un-modified. That would mean, the OE engine, floor shifter removed and proper shifter made to work, engine compartment should be body color, I'm betting the buckets would have to go as well. And to purist's, the Cougar tail lights would have to go as well since this is a huge No-No.

So "restored" can not be used/said, without issue.

I always say, "Build it your way since it is your car" and screw those who do not like it.
FWIW, I like it. Nothing stay stock around my stable anyways and I could not care less what others say and think.

That is pretty amazing how close the Cougar taillamps are sized to the Charger bumper opening.

My Harley is 1998 Softail Custom, with tons of extras. Needs nothing but a new home. I can send you pick if your interestd.

Built like "I" like it !!!

My hat`s off to you for being creative and for not over doing it! :hello2: I thought the tail lights looked GREAT & no mods to do it, even better. As far as being ridiculed for building it your way, unless you built it to suit the complainers, then **** them :icon_fU: & don`t loose ANY sleep over it. As long as you`re not trying to pass it off for something it`s not & you sound to me like you`re up front about. Again nice ride & good luck on your sale. :headbang:
