Car is missing motor and trans. U code automatic car. Compete but needs restoring.. No rust.. body looks good.. b5 blue is what looks to be the color with b3 interior.. bumpers are nice also.

Just missing the #'s Matching original engine & trans on a collector car drops it's value like 25% in some cases... Wild a$$ guess, maybe 30% of what a running driving car is worth, depends on what state, how many others are listed at the same time, driving the market value... & overall condition is everything as you probably well know too... does it come with any other needed parts ?? included into that persons selling/asking price.... a U code car will bring more than a non-U code car of course... what kind of condition is the grill, trim, interior, dash & gauges, lite lenses, steering wheel, disc brake or drum brakes/power or manual, rims & tires, A/C car ?? {I'm not sure/can't remember in 71 if you could get A/C with the 6bbl}, console car or column shift, what rear end is it a Dana 60 or a 8.750", even what color it is, go wing or chin spoilers, any added stripe packages, any N96 fresh air hood stuff {if so are all the parts still there ?}, Vinyl roof, condition of the glass, any more rare options etc. {some are far more rare &/or valuable than others}... all that stuff really adds up pretty darn quickly or drops value pretty darn quickly too, if it's not there anymore or it's bad... what does the fender tag & broadcast build sheet say ??, if it still has either one anyway... I'm not sure where I would even start to price it or value it at... photos & more specific information would help allot thou...

I completely agree with Budnicks however you asked a question w/o pics or all the info so I'll throw out an answer w/o that info and qualify it.

Based on your info I'm gonna say this .. if it has a clear or no problem title or you are in a no title state preferably the former

Thread title says it's a 71 GTX roller and your comments confirm "car is missing motor and trans"
It's an Auto "U code automatic car" all GTX's were at least a U code car so it's not a Hemi or 6 BBL, and it's not a 4 speed (which is not a positive but also not a minus)

It's all there "Compete but needs restoring" so it wouldn't fall into survivor category based on interior, paint and finish and obviously the motor and trans which I don't think is really that big a deal unless it's a Hemi, 6 BBL, AAR/TA, muscle car convert, or other really special badge type car. Complete means to me it has the interior also and those parts are nice or restorable/usable and you don't have to go find seat cores, door panels, dash parts like guages, pad core, console (most GTXs are console) .. not counting common replacement items like seat covers, head liner, carpet

Rust free car "No rust" and "body looks good" and "bumpers are nice also" So I am thinking frame rails, bumpers, trim, body panels, roof, etc looks good or at least solid and restorable and answering based on that

and then this .. "b5 blue is what looks to be the color with b3 interior" very nice and desirable colors but does it have the fender tag and or build sheet?

So I'm gonna take your limited but important info and say my qualified opinion is at least $4,500 IF

It has the fender tag(s), the body VIN stampings are present and match the dash VIN and fender tag and has a title or you can get a valid non-salvage title as those scare folks off.

This game would be so much easier if you provided pics and more information so we didn't have to make assumptions.

If this is an actual rust free, complete car and it's got some kind of uniqueness to it and just missing the motor and trans and has all the documentation it would be worth much more, if it's not and has rot in the frame rails, bent up or unsalvageable and hard to find parts like fenders for a 71 B-Body, or other problems you didn't disclose or your evaluation of the condition is not what I described above it could be worth less.

Are you sure about the B3 interior? I believe the only blue interior available on a 71 GTX was B5

You got ANOTHER one???

A running but not quite driveable 71 Roadrunner in B5 (or B7), stripper but 4 speed, manual steering manual drum, white bucket interior (no console) needing covers and white vinyl top needing replaced or removed...with repairable rust holes on about 18 inches of the top on the edges where the vinyl was, and needing patches in front of and behind the rear wheels (but wheel arches OK) and two 6 inch sections of trunk gutter...pant, pant...with a 73 400 short block under the original 383 accesories and heads...sold two weeks ago down here for $4200.

really need pics to know what its worth.
