I have my car insured through state farm and have been told by numerous people to go with someone like Haggerty. When I got this car I was asked by insurance company general value and told them $13k as it was. Now that I have made car alot better now though I think I need to bump it up because I honestly think I could not replace it now for $13,000. Car is true RS23U car optioned with auto trans, ac, am/fm cassette radio, hood pins, ps, buckets and console. Engine is a warranty 440 but no paperwork to substantiate so consider non numbers car. Interior is like new

I was thinking as sits around $25k replacement value but not really sure.
Thanks.

I insured mine for 30k with Hagerty. To build the car and have someone do everything I did I still dont think its enough. I sent pictures of everything. 9k in the motor about the same in paint and 6k in drive train and suspension and wheels and everything you overlook. It adds up fast. I,d hate to screw myself to save 100 bucks a year. I pay Haggerty 600. a year but am well covered with agreed 30k value

spend the money and have it appraised. be prepared for a shot of reality. its common to have it come in at less than whats in it. thats the nature of the hobby but now you know. rick

I insured my 72 rr GTX for $30k with Hagerty, pay $330 a year, which I dont think is bad at all. That includes their concierge service, which helps you out when you are in a pickle (like when your starter literally falls off on the highway) at no extra cost. Im actually up for a renewal and moved from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh, so I'm hoping my rate goes down even more.

Thanks for all the insight and the help. I need to find a local appraiser I guess. Good thing is only have maybe 10k in it. :)

I got Hagerty for 460 a year on my 69 RR ragtop and that's at 65K replacement value. Well worth the money I say

You need to insure that GTX for 25-30K.I have my driver Road Runner insured through State Farm for 26K.GTX's are worth more than your average Road Runner.

Great looking cars on here also! Love the Roadrunner 68383GTS! I have it insured through state farm right now for $13,000, that was what I figured it was worth before paint and addition of parts but now really dont think....actually KNOW I couldn't replace it for anywhere close to this.

1971 GTX Insurance

My '71GTX is insured with American Collectors Insurance for an agreed value of $60,500. Though I have a $1,000 deductable for comprehensive and collision, the annual premium is $313.00.

My car is in front and my brother's car is in back. These cars appeared in the April 2011 issue of MOPARMAX.com

Specialty insurance....

You would be wise to go to a specialty company, like Hagerty, to insure your collector car.
Driver type insurance companys arn't dialed into old car values and will make their own determination as to the claim value.... then your in for a hassel. Plus you have deductables.

A specialty insurance will sell you a "stated value" policy. That means you determine the value of your car and pay preminums based on that value...And with "zero" deductable. The preminum is much lower the a non speciality co also. Companys like Hagerty will also offer a road service for a nominal fee which will guarantee a rollback instead of "the hook", as well as other benefits. It'a a good service if you don't already have AAA.
The only requirement is that you have your "driver vehicle" insured with a normal policy. Your speciality policy is "in addition" to that.
