For about 30 years now I have always wanted a roadrunner my brother had a 1970 Roadrunner which was a 12 to 1 compression 440 fully built tubbed drag car which I just fell in love with fast forward to present day I drove from New York State to North Carolina 10 and a half hours to pick up a 1971 satellite my dream car it had a 360 in it at the time the fender tag is missing the motor was a 74 block the transmission was slipping the stock rear end is I don't even know so Ground Zero. We'll start from the front and end in the back I am replacing everything basically I have a brand new radiator ,Vintage Air air conditioning system the motor is a 360 getting rebuilt professionally roughly 500 horse and over 600 foot pounds of torque the engine compartment was all welded up and smooth out I am currently looking for a window surround and upper cowl because no one makes them and my a pillars and upper Cowl are rotted out so I'm probably going to buy a window surround the a pillars and upper cowl from a junkyard for a 1971 Plymouth Satellite station wagon hopefully that fits my two-door satellite I've ordered a custom hood with a AAR Cuda scoop and the front suspension is a qa1 double adjustable shock full system the interior is kind of sort of trying to stay stock appearing but not really I did get Dakota Digital dash because that appears stock I have rally gauges the interior color will be black I did order a more Road Race kind of front to bucket seats to sit on the side of my floor console with a four point harness safety belt and a 4-point roll cage which will be painted black to blend in with the new carpet new headliner a lot of Boom mat and that should basically be it for the interior for now I'm going to be using the door panels and everything else which came with the car I also am hooking up a Tremec 6-speed. For the rear end of the car I mini tubbed it put a qa1 4 Link and running 3:89 gears yes it is a Ford 9 inch and it has a new gas tank the exhaust I bought from Summit with an x-pipe and I wanted something different than anybody else so I got two Porter mufflers two and a half inch and the stock Muffler tips that came on that car in 1971 I love them the rear tires are going to be 18 by 11 or 12 depending on tires . in the front the tires will be 18 by 9 this is going to be a driver this is not a trailer Queen oh it is going to be painted purple which my son picked out the color (im color blind ) and right now the car is at The Body Shop waiting for a part for the front windshield the a pillars and upper cowl so the only thing I really have of pictures right now are these of what it looks like now and what my vision is hopefully . I can update this soon good luck everybody with your builds

Good luck 71 being the oddball year lots of one year only parts to find. My neighbor has this one for sale it has the 440 that I built in it. It needs body work but not too bad over all. The worst part being the driver side front frame rail. It needs to be replaced due to someone welding a piece of angle iron over it. Not sure what lies beneath that angle iron.

Fairly certain the wagon/sedan share the same A-pillars and glass, and the 2 door cars are different, same with my '71 Coronet and Chargers. Might be able to modify them to fit, but it won't be a "cut it out and weld it in" type of operation.

I have rust free sections from a 73-74 2 door. Not totally sure they are the same. Happy to do cuts and ship. Pics on request and lots of feedback in the VW world ( I'm fairly new to this forum).
