Hello all!
New to the forum, thanks for having me.
I recently found my 1971 Satellite that I owned in high school (1988). My plan is to rebuild it to as best as I can get it so that I can take it on doughnut runs on Sunday mornings with my little girl.
It was originally a 318/auto car and now it has a 1972 400.

It's seen better days since I owned it, but it's in better shape than most on CL and eBay.

If anyone can point me in the direction of some 1971 satellite threads, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Below is a photo of when I brought it home in 1988 and the other is when I brought it home again in 2014.

Wish me luck!

Welcome aboard FBBO :hello2: That is a very cool story about buying your car back again after all those years....well done. :icon_cool:

Very cool! I might have bits and pieces for you if you need anything. Good luck with her!

Welcome! I'm working on one too. I haven't posted much about mine in a while. I'm going the pro touring direction. Not "cloning" it into anything, it will be a Satellite when I'm done. I have an 04 5.7 hemi, trans, computer and wiring harness to go in. Looking at doing suspension upgrades as well. Right now it's in the body work stage which is taking a lot of my time. Anyway, I'm following your page. Good to see another Satellite getting some love. Looking forward to updates.

Welcome aboard!
Thanks for joining the forum.

PS: I'm only 90 miles "up the 14 North" from you!

Welcome and congrats on finding your 71.

Congratulations on getting your high school car back, that's an opportunity not many of us get! Love '71's, good luck on the project.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all!

I have a quick question... Moving forward do I post in this "Welcome Wagon" forum or would I post update and questions in the general forums?

Thanks!

Welcome, cool 71, There's alot of great info on this site.

Welcome to the addiction fellow!
Your story is similiar to mine. I just got my 74 Charger back this past April. Bought it Nov 1976, while in high school, girlfriend(wife now) ran it some her senior year. Sold it Nov 1981, got it back April 2014. Last inspection on it 1985. Only got a couple thosand miles on it in that time. Here's one the wife didn't give me any grief about bringing home! LOL
Enjoy your 71' You can feel fortunate to have gotten it back...I know the feeling.

Congratulations on getting your high school car back, that's an opportunity not many of us get! Love '71's, good luck on the project.
Tell me about it Outlaw. I just got my high school car back, 74' Charger, after 32+ years and it was barely even run. Bought it Nov 76>>Sold Nov 81>>Back home 2014. It was only run a small bit from 81 to 85, then stored away. No other owners in between. Once in a lifetime opportunity!
