1972 440 stock fan color

After a day of cleaning the fan (wife actually cleaned it) with the plan to simply paint it black it I think it's the stock 1972 fan and the blades cleaned up and are are bare silver metal on a black steel hub. After all this cleaning, yes is was clean enough to run through the dishwasher, I'm not sure if I want to paint it. Does anyone know if this looks like an original fan and would it have been painted from the factory?

Not 100% sure but I think painted.

I just looked at one downstairs and the blades look black...a thin coat, but black.

Yours though, doesn't look like it had paint on it....if it did, let me know the make and model of that dishwasher.
