I'm looking into removing the rocker panels from my donor car and on my 1972 GTX and I'm trying to figure out the mechanical structure. I see the bottom are spot welded along the bottom of the car the the tops appear to be welded to the floor pans. I'm not sure about the front end caps and I know no one makes aftermarket end caps so I have to get the ones off the donor car. How useful are the body service manuals? I have the chassis service manual and use it on a regular basis but I'm not sure if I want to (or need to) invest in the body service manual. Are the body manuals as complete as the chassis manual?

Hi I'm kind of in the same boat as you are except my rockers are good but the metal behind the front quarters is rusted out.I have know ideal what the name of this inner structure is or how this part is made into the body but the quarter window regulator is bolted to it.I have both service manuals and they don't show any of the inner body structures so you would not benefit in paying for the body manual unless you just need it for other info on the cars make up. If I learn anything new I'll let you know.
