My 72 SSP buckets need a re-do so I purchased some preformed foam for 72 buckets online. My drivers seat is really torn up on the side nearest the door and some wires/springs are showing through the foam. The preformed foam I purchased is just foam I think. I don't see any integral wires in it. Did I make the wrong purchase? Are my buckets original or from another year Plymouth or Dodge? (I know more about motors than these upholstery items) Thank you for any advice.

Your purchased preformed foam will sit on top of the wire springs. When the original foam deteriorated the wire springs worked into it. Placing a burlap barrier between the new foam and the springs will help stabilize the foam.

I appreciate the reply, but after looking once again, I still believe the "wire mesh" seems to have been built into the factory seat foam from the very beginning.
