I want to go smoke or green sunroof transparent, and power also.
Are there kits? or Replace with newer Unit from Newer salvage? Has anyone done this. 11659roof.jpg11663.jpg:eusa_think:

You are the owner, but if it was mine I would leave it alone. Nice car. How about full pics.

I concur. It would almost be a crime to mess with that. it looks fantastic the way it is, but its your car lol

I grabbed a motor off a 77-ish Cordoba.

That's a bolt on upgrade.
Mounts right where the handle attaches and is covered by the headliner.
The switch was toast, but looked very generic (rocker from radioshack will work).

I'd like a glass insert, as well.
I thought about cutting out the center and finding a similarly sized glass roof for donor glass.
That would keep the mechanism intact.
Having a pull closed shade would be nice, and almost a necessity in FL.

Then I also decided not to deface the factory stuff as it's kinda hard to find.

I'm 6'3 with a long spine, and the headroom lost to the s/r causes me not to fit, even after I remove the seat track spacers.

Right now the plan is to find an aftermarket, glass "flip-up" s/r that fits the factory hole, and just remove the mechanism and use the aftermarket s/r.

That way I get my headroom back, and don't tear up the OEM stuff.

There's a school of thought that says virtually all OEM s/r installs were done either by the same company, or by one of two companies. I can't say I completely agree with that, as I've seen way too may variations on the assemblies that suggest they were not all done "by the same hand".

...in fact the Cordoba s/r motor looks very similar to later model p/w motors (flats on sides of motor making it slimmer).

if that's the car... don't hack up the roof please!

I'd built a replacement moving roof section, but don't cut out that one.

I guess will need to build a frame where will attach the mechanism, and the glass or acrilyc sheet over it
