I found a Dana 60 in a 1977 Dodge truck 3/4 ton 354 ratio rear 4x4 . Is it possible for me to use this in a 1973 Dodge Charger ? I understand I'll have to do some modifications to it but I was curious if this would work.

I've cut down two Dana 60's out of Ford trucks for my stuff. The last one is in my sons turbo car. Cut off the full floater ends and brackets, welded ends and spring pads on, replaced the axles and open carrier with a spool. The bearings and 3.55 were reused.

Are we talking more cost to do this than doing a 8 3/4 rear. I'm undecided on what to do I have a 73 charger with a 8 1/4 .This guy's selling one for $300 with 3.56 gears in it out of a Dodge truck. When I do my motor 400bb I'm looking for around 350-400 hp. Is it overkill ?

it probably is overkill, but the dana sure looks cool!....... also, what to do about a pinion snubber?
