1985 Mercury Grand Marquis LS sedan located in OKC. 39K real miles. I'm the third local owner, always an OKC area car from new. First owner had the car for a year, the second until May 2014, and me since. The car has been parked outside for the majority of its life, so the car is NOT mint, but it IS pretty nice! It's white with white half-top and blue cloth interior. Options include air conditioning/heater (NOT Climate Control!) with toasty heat and COLD air; AM/FM/cassette (works), clock (works!), p driver seat, p windows and locks. Day/nite mirror, remote control outside mirrors, good spare with factory jack and handle. Nice car all around with a couple of small "wally-world" dings, nice paint and chrome, all glass is good. No rust! All of the lights work, as does the electrical, in general.
The car belonged to an elderly lady who passed two years ago. She did not drive at all in her last three years of life. Her son-in-law (who is a co-worker of mine) drove the car maybe three times in the year before I got the car. This is a true "little 'ol lady" car that was seldom driven when she DID drive. Since she lived in an apartment complex for over twenty years, the car was parked in her handicapped spot much of the time, so it was spared the door dings and such most apartment dwellers deal with.
The following have been replaced with NEW since last Spring...remember, the car did sit for quite a while before I got it, and therefore needed some attention before becoming a daily driver again:
-New front brake pads, rotors turned, new outer wheel bearings
-New rear brake shoes, drums turned, new brake cylinders and brake kits
-New upper & lower hoses, heater hoses, and that little hose between the water pump and the manifold, plus coolant flush (previous hoses were ALL originals!
-New battery
-New ignition switch, distributor and module
-New tailpipe and glasspack muffler (sounds pretty mellow, actually!)
-Tires recently replaced with better tires I had on my '86 Ford CS wagon
-New wiper blades
-New door switch
-New PCV valve and oil/air/fuel filters
-Recharged air conditioning with R134a - nice and cold!
-New valve cover gaskets and oil sending unit (originals leaked from lack of use!)
Things that do NOT work, or need attention:
-Power window motors in the RF and LR doors need replacement
-Headliner sags, but is tacked up in place
-Vinyl top is cracked, but from 20 feet, looks good
-Hood ornament broken off
-Dashpad is cracked, but has one of those dash covers over it, looks good!
-Dash speakers are cracked from the Sun exposure
-Slight oil leak at the rear seal
-Shocks are worn (factory originals!)
Price on this car is just $2,400. Cash. Not interested in any trades, unless for an older small Ford Ranger pickup in similar condition. My car has a current and valid Oklahoma tag and title in MY name. I expect any trade to have a CURRENT tag and title in the seller's name. No "lost title" BS!
Located in OKC, OK. This is a 31-year old car that has a few minor needs. It is NOT "showroom-fresh"! If you are expecting mint for the money, keep looking. Only reason I'm selling is that my son is moving out and I do not need the extra vehicle. Shoot me a PM here with an email address so I can provide pics. Please, NO time-wasters! If you've read the ad this far, I can reasonably assume you might really be interested in the car. Thanks!
