WTS/WTT 1996 LT-4 Corvette

I have for sale a 1996 LT-4 Corvette. This Corvette is all original with no modifications every done to the car. This is the last year of the C4 Corvette and the only year for the LT-4 motor. I bought the car to drive and enjoy after selling a MOPAR muscle car project and I'm really missing having a MOPAR muscle car.

The car runs and drives great and is very health and very strong, this is a six speed with a 350 motor and rated 330HP from the factory. This is as far as I can tell an all numbers matching car. I am the third owner of the car and I have the service records from the first owner and I believe the second owner as well.

The car needs to be cleaned up really good on the inside to make it look factory fresh. The seats are as they came from the factory, no tears and no cracking. The paint on the car will need to be redone, someone keyed the car before I bought it and to me it was no big deal. I was going sand the car down and prep it to be painted at a later date. I can get the car sanded down and ready for paint if you want. This is something we can talk about after the sell of the car.

I will post pictures of the car and link two video's of it. I have two different video's the one is from when it was really cold winter day out and one done today 5/19/12.

I'm asking $10,500.00 obo. I'm also looking for MOPAR muscle car trades. You can pm me here and post here. PM me and I will give phone number to contact me at.

Thanks.

This is one you can drive and have fun with and get ready for paint while you drive to a cruise inn or car shows.

I'm asking $9,000.00. I will listen to offers as well. I'm also looking for MOPAR muscle car trades. Post and PM here and I will give my cell number to you so you can text or call me.

Thanks everyone.

Not to be negative, just realistic, but I find it very interesting that I can find a late C3 or early C4 Corvette for MUCH LESS than a 63-67 or 72-74 Mopar in the same condition.

That's crazy. I've looked at about a dozen 76-94 Corvettes with the most expensive being a 93 black 6 speed without traction control for $6600.

I can't find a solid, driver Duster, A body Barracuda, Coronet or 72-74 Sat/Charger for that anywhere.

The Vettes in the C3 model years are going to be much lower in price due to being low horse power same with the C4s 84-91 will be, now when it comes to the LT1 cars it will be a little higher price due to the horse power being back up in those cars.

The LT-4 is the top of the base models in 96 with 330HP and it was the only way to get a 6spd in 96.

It is crazy to think that some of the C4s are bringing what a good driver is in a MOPAR. I have had project cars to drivers offered in trade. I have had one 71 GTX 440-6 car offered up and it was a project no motor car needing work, but the owner has since went MIA.

So back to the top and again I will listen to offers on this one year only car.

Whew, I'm glad you didn't think I was knocking your car.

I was just making a price comparison observation.

I find the C3 body MUCH more sexy, but after driving a few, I can say 100% that the C4 is a MUCH better car. I understand you can retrofit a C4 frame to C3 now.

Free bump due to constructive dialog!

The 300 HP cars I drove were fine performers.
I bet the LT-4 in the same body is realy fun.

I've talked to a few guys that say the LT-4 will out perform the 97 Vettes. I think that was the LS1 motor.

I also like the C3 body and C2s as well. The C3s just depends on what one if they have resell value its strange.

I saw one on the road the other day same color as mine made me re-think of selling or not.........Selling I want another MOPAR.

I did have a guy interested in a trade he has a 71 GTX 440-6 project car.

New Price $7500

BTT new price and this is as low as I will go on it $5500.00

What has been done to the car? Brakes, suspension, distributor, etc?

How many miles?

How many miles?

It has a 148 thousand miles on it. I just had a guy look at it today that has owned LT4s and thought for mine having high miles there would be something really wrong with it.

He was shocked that it was in good condition for a daily driver it didnt have the problems that some of the low mile cars have.

He said it looked to have been serviced everytime that it was needed to be.

He did leave, but he left with saying I will be calling you back I have to find room in my garage or carport, but maybe his wifes car or his truck could set outside until the truck sold.

I don't know if that is good news or not but he liked it. Oh and he drove here in a pro street camaro Z28.

Oh and he tested the air it does work.

Here are motor pics

Thanks YY1, what did you get man!

Did you start a thread on it? I hope to find something but I'm going to look around and save a little as well and then buy what I really want.

I also have a couple of novels I have been working on and one is being looked at for Sundance (romance novel) and I will see about getting them edited and in print.

I have about 3 or 4 novels Im close to being done on. I want to do one based on two lane blacktop and I thought about using the Vette in that book but I'm such a mopar guy lol

The one Zombie book I have the guy drives a 70 Challenger R/T and has a few Chevys blowing up in the book ahaha.

You're a professional writer? Cool!

My mom has had a couple of things published, and is working on a book based on her experiences visiting Cuba prior to the castro revolution, and hanging out with young people, some of whom were "involved", and then how the people didn't really get what they thought.

I bought a super clean 73 Satellite off the second owner-

http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?t=36858

And I also bought a 72 Charger 400 4 barrel car.
It's borderline savable with new quarters and roof, but I only paid parts car price and got a sway bar 8 3/4 3.23 rear, a nearly complete black bucket interior, a complete hideaway headlight assy, mint doors, and a few other goodies.

That is so cool your Mom has done that and I would really be interested in reading her work.

I'm not a professional yet, with only a short short story being my first published work (later this summer) with a collection of authors.

Right now only one book is ready to be sent out for editing and I'm looking for a good editor. I have had a few woman read my work and all wanted to go out with me after reading it thinking I'm the main guy in the book or I'm romantic....Long story short after the ninty nine cent menu dates and one really bad action packed movie they found out I'm not so romantic....But still stalk me haha.

YY1 if you know who your mom uses for an editor shoot me a pm and what titles your mom has as well.

Thanks man and congrats on the cars. I will be shopping for a while and saving. I'm still on this guy with a 66 charger and that 73 Road Runner.

Mom has had a couple poems published, including one that's in the Roy Rogers Museum, and some children's short stories. She's calling her Cuba thing- a "novella".
Years ago her working title was "The Only Soldier of Fortune I've Ever KNown Was A Woman". Lengthy, but makes you think, especially in 1959 ish Cuba. I guess she always wore a turtleneck sweater to hide an assiasination attempt scar!

Back to earth now...I tested my 72 Charger's rear today, and it's SG :)
Just went from a $150 axle to a $450+ axle!

Now I'm partial to you getting that 73 RR. Although I like 66/67 anything B.

I just put a couple hours cleaning on my Sat. Leveled the T bars, set the idle, etc.
Hope to drive it to work Thursday.
Key buzzer quit working today :(
All lights work though!

YY1 that really sounds like a good read. Yeah a novella is shorter then 70 thousand words anything 70 and over is looked at as a novel. Novella's not a short story and not a novella. I learned that when I thought oh man I have 45 thousand words my first novel lol I needed 25 thousand more haha.

Sounds like your mom has done well with getting her stuff out there and that is something that is so hard. You would think with the net and bloging it would be easy but its hard.

If she finishes or has it finished I would love to read her story on Cuba. It is crazy how close the country is to us and how close we came to war with them.

What does SG stand for on the rear end?

Yeah I sent an email back to the guy on the 73 RR, he wont answer me where he picked it up or the last owner. I keep asking for history and now I'm asking for a phone number.

I can tell from the pics its that car and I'm drawn towards because of the history I have with it and the story behind. I also think it is numbers matching.

The 66 Charger the headlights dont work you have to crank by hand and the one quarter has bubbles in it. The charger was an original green car as well, now painted baby blue it looked white in pics. He also wont come down on the car. I think he came down to 8300.

I think the 66 is a 6000 range car for the work it needs.

8K is way high for a car with previous body work coming out, unless there's n aftermarket panel available and it's other wise a 15K car!

I hate when people won't answer direct questions.
It seems like if you ask more than one thing some people can't process the info.

I looked a 66 Coronet converible and kept asking "do you have the back seat and all of the rest of the trim. I never got a straight and complete answer to that simple yes or no two part question WTF.

SG is short for sure-grip, meaning it's limited slip.

Yeah, mom's had some interesting times...before I remember...nnowing her for the last 40 smething years, I can't imagine her EVER doing some of that stuff...like what she was doing in San Francisco in 1967...besides obviously concieving me :)

She's the kind of person that used to say things like "keep both hands on the wheel", and she spends 2 minutes adjusting all the mirrors and the seat every time she gets in to drive.

I was able to teach her how to start her car with a ratchet and socket, while waiting for a new ignition switch once!

How do you start a car with a ratchet and socket? I have never done that lol so I'm learning something new.

Yeah the guy on the RR is not emailing back now and I've asked for a phone number and where its located so I can come take a look.

The Charger I'm going to pass on for now as it has some problems and it makes it harder to work on those years when there is no parts being made and I really dont want to take on a project, even if it looks like just one panel might need replaced until I cut into the car and find more hidden work.

The only reason I would buy the RR is to keep for a later date and due to the history with the car it seems to be one that gets away from me everytime.

If I don't find what I'm looking for well I will save till next year and head to Carlisle and get what I really really want.

I really would like to have a Demon, Dart Sport, Duster, Swinger, Coronet, Charger, Barracuda/Cuda and a Challenger. I'm also looking at 1970-1971 Fury and Chrysler 300s for some reason I have always loved those body styles.

I would love a 68 Charger.......The hunt goes on.
