2 piece Timing cover

hi,
Anyone have any reccommendations for a 2piece timing cover for a RB?

Thinking of this cover from cvr, but not shure if it will clear a stock water pump:

I use this cover. It is a very well made piece but not without its quirks. I had to do some minor clearancing to the back of the water pump as well as to the TDC indicator. It wasn't difficult, just annoying. It is also difficult to set a cam button for as it sits very close to the cam bolts. I actually had to clearance those a tiny bit as well just to be able to use a button.

To be honest, a nice timing cover and a good timing chain is so expensive it almost makes me think of a jesel belt drive as an alternative...

The Jesel setup is $1000 more than any chain/cover combo I’ve ever priced. I couldn’t even justify a jesel for my new build. I don’t even use these fancy aluminum covers as you’ll never use/see them once the engine is all together and in the car.

the billet one from Mancini Racing on this EFI engine.

Don’t worry, I’m currently using the stock timing cover with a cloyes timing set with no problems.
But if you look at the cost for a day at the dyno where I live, it could be worth spending a bit extra on some easy to work with parts.
Regarding the belt drive, it would have been interesting to see if it’s as stable on the timing light as they say. I’ll probably never know first hand :)

The only thing I’ve seen really stabilize timing is a crank trigger, lol. I’ve had several belt drive engines on the dyno and they’re really not much different as far as stable timing is concerned.

This is a very stable setup. Belt drive, crank trigger and cam sync. No distributor with sloppy bushings or jitter from the oil pump, just a nice clean digital signal.
