I have 2 questions. How do you remove the white looking look on an aluminum intake. I'm sure it comes from humidity. Also, I have a 65 Satellite. I'm looking for the lower steering shaft cover that attaches to the dash with 2 screws in black. Can anyone help? Thanks.

As far as cleaning the manifold- this has worked really well for me:

Keep the brightener away from polished parts and paint. Otherwise it works well.

the white stuff is alum oxide. the best solution is to paint the part with alum paint, if you want the alum look. any bare metal will oxidize and alum does it quickly.

Ive wondered this myself. What if you clean it up and clear it? I cant see painting aluminum parts with aluminum paint

Aluminum has to be very very smooth to polish it and must be polished in stages. There are polished aluminum sealers on the market I prefer Alcoa's sealer

. I know this only because I polish the wheels on my semi

if you are going to clear coat you have to use a proper paint otherwise the clear will turn yellow over time being in that type of heat
