I bought my first mopar in 1976. A large company had just returned 60 lease vehicles to a dealership and I was next guy in the door. We settled on a price of $2200 for a 1974 Dodge Charger and he took me to the compound where they were. There were 20 base model 1974 Dodge Chargers all lined up, almost identical to each other. He told me pick any one of them and it's mine.

I flipped it a couple years later and wrecked it. Would love to be standing in that compound again looking at the same line up.

Here's the only picture I have of it.

Fell asleep driving at about 90 mph, drifted across the road, woke up when the wheels hit the gravel, first thought was "don't pull it back on the road, it'll roll" so drove it into the ditch, and hit the approach probably still going 80. Luckily I got ejected through the front window before the car did some end over end flips. Was beat up pretty badly but lived to tell my grandchildren about it.

Sounds like, "Your A Lucky Dog", Damn it's good to still be alive, let alone only just beat up pretty badly... It's a good story to share with the grandkids too...

You can just tell in the picture that there wasn;t much saving that charger and yes you are lucky to be alive. Just had a news story from des moines, ia. that some guy crashed into a police cruiser and died. His 9 year old son was in the car also. He's in serious condition. They estimated his speed at impact was about 130 mph.
