I have 2 2806301 intakes. one of them has a 2A the other a 1A. What is the difference? And what is the significance of the area that looks like a clock?
Do you see any visable difference between the two like an extra threaded hole? They were only made for the two years and are very favorable for a factory manifold.
The clock casting is for production reference for the factory just like on the blocks. Time of day the batch was casted. Also I don't think that's an "A" next to the "1" and "2". Some type of character?
By the way, they were used on '68 - '69 383 engine only. Of course they will fit any low block big block...
I really didn't think that was an A but its the only way I could describe it. I was looking for 2806301 intake and the guy had 3 of them. He was selling them so cheap, I bought all 3. I decided I would clean them up a bit, look them over, pick the one I want and then sell the others. I didn't even know one had a 1 and the other had a 2 until my wife asked what the difference was when she was looking at my work. Far as any physical difference... none! The date codes are worn so I can't tell if they are different years. 1 was orange so... DODGE, if it was a 69. The other was I believe turquoise.... Plymoth or 68?
