2898041 1968 26" 318 Auto A/C radiator. For C,B and A body. On the radiator page says "S". Any idea what the S means? Any chance it's for Service ? Like a police car ?

I imagine it's a typo.. just like Rosevilles other typos like 363's instead of 383.

With a 26" rad for a 318 it's probably for a C body car.

Oftentimes the letter "S" designates a radiator for cars with a STANDARD transmission. The letter "A" designates a radiator for cars with AUTOMATIC transmission.

A radiator with the letter "S" would not have the brass fittings for the tranny cooler lines.

I have a --Chrysler Muscle Car parts Interchange Manual-- 1968-1974 by Paul Herd.
It shows that number to be for --1968 Coronet, Charger, Belvedere with 318 eng. with air conditioning.
No mention of C bodies in this book. But it's not a book about them anyway.

Many models use the same radiator for auto and manual trans. The '69 x -053 rad is one of them. Came as standard equipment in 4 speed and automatic 383 cars and auto 440 cars. Has the trans cooler and fitting ports no matter which trans is in the car. 4 speeds the ports were just capped with NPT plugs.
