Hi guys im very new at this finding the right stuff for these old gals, im tryin to piece back together my 64 savoy 4door, i was looking at a transmission for her, not sure if its correct or will work for my car.

heres the casting numbers i have: C-99224-2 3410274 05102-70

as for the c-99224-2, i goggled that some say its a A230, i saw couple say different you guys are very experienced from what i see every day, any help would be appericaited i did find a list of bell housing casting numbers as for this good info but no bellhousing on this trans. s-l1600.jpgs-l1600 (1).jpg

Not sure the early 3 speed had a shifter plate. Most were column shift.

i'm going to say a 1970 3spd. tail housing gives it away.

Sir you would know more then i, this is my very 1st mopar of any sorts lol, at some point i do believe i read something about a 4 studs/bolts/ off tailshaft out put was a certain year or something, i was indeed wondering if the random (70) was for 1970

Is there a VIN on the pad on the passenger's side?

the owner didnt state any vin tags, i just know what she gave to me i was heading on a trip this weekend figured if it would work for my 64 id grab it up.

yeah idk anything about anything with these old girls, i do however know my car was a 3 on tree car, all that was removed and i have a floor mounted shifter not a automatic i checked that to make sure. lol

the three speed that didn't have a shifter plate was the top loader A-745 and it was mega weak.

This is an A-230 which was built by new process ....same company who made our beloved 833 4 speed. This unit is a very capable and stout unit. I have one exactly like it from a 70 challenger. Since 70 was the first year they offered a floor mount three speed in most models, these started in 70.

most of these units were not fully synchronized from slant six cars ....a rare variety was made that feature full synchro and were used in V8 cars up to 383 2 bbl.s in some car lines.

The flat spot in the circle is the vin ID boss .....when you clean the flat part off real good there will be numbers there and this will tell you the year of car it was originally installed in and tell you the model number which we already know its a 230 and it will tell what specific day it was assembled.

the two shifter mounting plates tell me it was capable of fitting in an e-body. a'64 trans would've had a ball and trunion flange.
