318 poly column shift to a833 4 speed

Was looking in to doing this if possible.Curios if anyone

Transmission to bellhousing patterns are totally different if your going from the 3spd to a 4spd. I know of no polys that came with a 4spd.
The proper 340 bellhousing may get you there.

Trucks came from the factory with a 4 speed on a poly. Yes it is doable what year poly?

I've done it in a 62 fury 2 door wagon
big heavy three speed and early driveline
we used an iron bellhousing but I do not remember out of what
may have had to change the clutch disc
it is doable

If the poly is post 62 it is very simple really, Pre-62 not so much. The 62+ 318 poly uses the same flywheel as any internally balanced small block with 10.5" clutch (273 used a smaller clutch). Don't forget that the 360's and later 340's are externally balanced.
