So I have been doing the 318 to 440 swap on my 74 charger and each step has been one problem after the other. The problem I'm having is my long tube headman headers are blocking where my linkage is supposed to go and there is no way to move the headers enough to get it to work... so I was wondering what someone else has done, I'm using the Schumacher motor mounts to get it to fit and everything except those has given me problems, ESPECIALLY THE OIL PAN AND PICKUP FROM 440 SOURCE:angryfire:. The pan is way too shallow and the pickup tube is laying on the bottom so I have no oil pressure...
Does anyone sell a cable kit or custom linkage? I'm planning on keeping the column shifter on it I really don't want to make it a floor shifter, any help would be great!

found something on summit form ididit, asked another question elsewhere in case if anyone has the same problem as me it is a cable kit for column shifters.

This started out to be a temporary fix until I could find offset rod, but its been there about two years now and seems to be working fine. I modified brackets to go on top of frame instead of side. This is a 71, small block with 904.

Sometimes i think headers are the worse thing on these cars, getting in the way with things, my SB headers arent bad but ive seen enough BB applications with the headers giving starter problems as well as this.. good luck, maybe the company's making headers will come up with a set some day to solve these problems..

I just installed a set of Hooker super comps on a 72 with a 383.... Their instructions outlined flipping the brackets like this
