I have a 72 plymouth satellite sebring and it came with a 4 barrel 360ci and I believe is a 727 transmission. I was going to finish the console shift linkage so I bought the bracket that mounts to the transmission that holds bar that twists when you shift. Turns out the transmission does not have the 2 holes for the bracket to mount onto. I did a bit more research and I found that the only transmissions that didn't have those in the design were truck transmissions and that 360ci truck engines came with 727 rather than the 904. Could someone tell me what the best alternative other than switching transmissions/tail housing would be? Or where I could possible fabricate a bracket to mount somewhere else? I though of mounting it to the trans mount but I'm not sure if that would work. Also If you can tell me if it is in fact a truck engine and transmission, the spec and if there is anything differences between a truck 360 and a car 360. The engines year is 1981. Thanks

Does the tranny at least have the cast boss for the bracket? If so then you can just drill it. If not then perhaps you can use the bottom tail shaft bolts to attach a custom bracket.
