Just purchased a 383 with casting number of 2468130-1,date coe is 11-9-1970 and stamped G383 and HP is stamped on bottom right corner below that.Would this make this motor a high performance block

G383 HP.....is 71 383 High performance......
11-9-70 is that the casting date on the side or the assembly date on the flat ID pad? What VIN is on it?

2468130-1---is the 383 casting number up to 1971.......

Were the G383 AND HP are stamped it is also stamped 11 192

Just to be clear, all 383 blocks are physically the same. The block that the OP has was used for a HP motor.
