383 main caps

i was told that if you do not put all the original main caps back on block,that you can not use any other caps on that block? true or false? you can not buy new caps or a new cap to add to block if you loose the originals? thanks

you can purchase new caps, or used ones if you want, but, you will need to get the line bore straight if you plan on using any main caps other than the original ones that were on the block.
