I am in the process of building a 431 stroker motor and would like some advice on what heads I should run. I love the look of the stock appearence that the stealth heads have but I have heard that they have had some issues as well in the past. Hopefully this was in the past and I can feel comfortable putting these on my street/ strip BEE?

Mind sharing some internal gouge? What crank, rods, pistons you used and what machining you did to the crank and block if you don't mind. Thanks.

All I can say is if you try hard enough, you'll find someone to bash any brand head! Usualy I find it's all second or third hand accounts from the person commenting too, like "I knew a guy who said he seen this or that happen to those heads"... Stuff like that. I have also heard from others on here " Almost all of them need some sort of attention when you get them". I think that most of the BIG name brand heads come as a bare casting and you have to finish them out, so machining and final perfomance is all in the hands of the buyer. "your results may very"!
I personaly couldn't afford those options, so I bought a set of ProComp Victor heads. I'm glad I did!!!! They look great! Thick castings! Stainless valves! Huge ports "same as the Eddy Victors"! No troubles so far with about 2 1/2hrs run time... LOL.
I know others here have them on there race cars and have had NO troubles, but it's not spoken alot because you might get everyones negative opinions....
The short of it is,,,, Try it!!!! If you don't like what you see try something different. I would hope returning a non used "defective" part wouldn't be an issue.
Also, I like taking them to a machine shop for inspection. Some of these guys have seen a dozen or more different head manufactures, and can give you a non bias opinion of your head.

i used 67 quench heads with porting on my 431 and it halls butt. those stealth heads have some great numbers (probably what i have now after porting on mine). i always wanted to try these things i like the stock look also haven't heard much about problems

If you want the stock look, I'd look at the 67 915 heads too but by the time you get them rebuilt with some port work, you'd have enough money in them to buy a set of the Eddy RPM heads with a few more bucks added. I have a set and out of the box, they are very nice looking. Had them checked out against a set of max ported 906's and the shop said they were nice and flowed the same but they have a better port design, angle plugs and closed chamber and would out perform the maxed out 906's. Flow bench testing is one thing...actual track testing is another. Only thing is they don't look stock....

My thoughts exactly!

It also depends on how fast you want to go. I was going to use the Stealth or Eddy's but then I decided I may want to go faster later so I went wwith the Indy EZ heads as they have more potential but dont look to stock. I would not hesitate to use the Stealth heads at all but just have you machine shop check them over. Good luck , Ron
