Came across a 392 Hemi that I'm thinking about getting. Good block, heads, valve covers, rods, pistons intake but the 2 cranks are bad(what I was told). Didn't get into much details about the cranks but from what they owner says, it sounds like one needs to be sent out to be built up. I have no idea. What is the best place to look for engine parts quality and price wise? Don't think I would put the 392 in my 63 Belvedere but I've got a 51 mercury project. What would this basket case value? Trying to do some research and decide on what to do. Thanks!

First and foremost, make sure it's a 392 by checking the numbers. There were fifteen different hemis back then and everyone one of them was a 392. :sFun_doh2:

Look on Craigslist in the phoenix and the Los Angles area. Their are probabl6 5-6 older Hemi's here in Phoenix. This should give you an idea of what's out there and price.

I'll take a look. Did some calling today and the cranks are no good. Nothing has been done to the heads and it has some kind of racing pistons. Still doing some research.
