Im curious,

What makes all the cam companys produce 1bolt cams over 3bolt?

Theres a very limited selection of three bolt cams.
Im in the market for a 3bolt because of the gear drive i just purchased only to realize there is a very small selection of 3bolt bump sticks
What gives?

The 3 bolt vs 1 bolt design is really based on mechanical forces, and when the cam profiles get crazy and spring pressures are high you use the 3 bolt. Gear drives fall into that model as well and are required when a timing chain just isn't enough to contain all the shock and forces from the valve train. Belt drives are also on the high end of durability and are said to be better than gear drives. So it makes engineering sense that for a mild cam a single bolt and a regular timing chain are all you need.

all big blocks with the exception of later hemi's ('66 or later), and 6-paks were single bolt.

Cool... Figured it was a durability issue. Looks like ill be getting a fancy cam!!!! Haha Lunati youll be getting my money soon.

If you desire a 3-bolt hydraulic, most of the cam companies will provide it at little, or no, extra charge...

I've bought cams from most suppliers over the years, and every one of them offered their cams in either configuration.

look at hughes or engle before you go lunati, they design their camshafts specifically for the .904 lifter (IOW, for mopar engines)
