4 bolt Main IRON blocks available ?

I was talking to my builder last week & he again mentioned to me that the 4 bolt main 440 blocks still not available.

Supposedly Muscle Motors is tooling them up. There has been a couple of nice used Mopar mega blocks for sale recently around 3K which is pretty reasonable.

More like, they're just not making them.
From the info i've read lately, foundry/casting issues.

More like, they aren't making any money from them. I had one...and it was VERY nice. Talk around here... was that it was costing them too much for the machine-work. Their price-point was too low.

Thats why I went with a 400 block. There a better block anyway

That too
They could make money if the volume/demand was what other brands are. Return on investment dictates a lot.

Just curious, why do you think a 400 block is a better piece?
I auctually made a good score...The low deck 400 block is a great engine...This is the block that all the drag racers want because you can stroke it out up to 572 ci. (quote)

the 400 low deck has more beef in the main webbing, going much over 512 cid is not very easy in a low deck. you are limited on stroke because of rod ratio & piston pin height ie compression height.

Thanks for the info. Back in the '80's I built 2 low deck 452's. They were very good motors. Although my first one broke a main cap. But I really ran way too much RPM. 7200 -7400 RPM is beyond the design limits of those motors.
