I' ll take that Chrysler. PM sent.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between "surface" rust and "real" rust, concerning your 65 Chrysler!
:head_smack:

Yep. Here in Iowa this is rust lol. My son just sold it for 700 dollars.

That old Chrysler is nice, numbers matching and a 500 that is VERY solid and runs good. 4 grand is a cheap way to get into a neat old car in my opinion. I have never seen a car with no surface rust unless it is totally restored and then it starts all over again.

Here is my rusty 63 Plymouth from California I sold. Just look how rusty it is.

My bad on the rusty condition of my cars. Sorry for misrepresenting my rusted out old turd cars. I better just keep them as they are really pretty rusty. Thanks for correcting me.:eek:ops::glasses9: What really gets me is the people that ask does your old rusty 45 year old car have any leaks?????? ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!
Here is the email I got. You seem really nice. I just think you expect a 15 or 30k car for 4 grand? I dunno. ALL OF MY cars are in my name thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Is that rust in the trunk and on the frame in the pics?
How does it run, any leaks anywhere?
Do you have a clear title in your name?
Thanks.
Georges

I would LOVE to see a 65 or even a 63(like mine) from Florida with photos taken the same way I took mine to compare to mine. That van is a 97 and from Florida. It is expected to look like that. Ad another 30 years to it. My 65 come from Reno Nevada in a airplane hanger.

Let me clarify some stuff about the van.
It belonged to the school board painting crew.
It sat outside all the time....on pavement.
I have seen other ones that sat on grass alot and they got kinda swiss cheesed.

Southern cars are defiantly better for sheetmetal and Northern cars are better for the interiors. All I am trying to say is that my 65 is rock solid and was asked about the "rust" seen in the photo of the trunk lol. Then was asked it it had any leaks..... Actually just the overflow leaks a bit because it needs a catch can. I myself who has sold hundreds of cars and never had a issue thought I described the 65 300 AND my 63 Plymouth accurately as possible. I still would like to see other cars out there in better shape than my 63 or 65 that has not been restored and the original metal...........

Know what you mean.

I like your rollback. I drove the 1st SuperDuty one in Florida.
7.3 Diesel with a Jerr-Dan with the big wheellift that they copied from somebody else. I could tow it's sister truck on the wheel-lift with nothing
on the bed but it had the tippytoed front end problem.

I decided to just keep my rollback. It just runs and works to good. Heck the air even still works. It is nice to haul 2 at once for sure. I did the wheel lift thing with no car on the bed and you are right about the tippytoed front end problem. My Dodge was the same way so I don`t think it is just a Ford thing. It is sure nice to back up to a car and winch it up, flat tires and all and just drive away!!!!!

Your response:
I forgot, in Florida surface rust is considered rust lol. In Iowa here rust is holes not something that can just be sanded odd. It runs good I don`t think it leaks. After all it it 46 years old. I don`t think this will be a car for you. Thanks anyway.

And that was your brilliant answer to an honest inquiry from someone who was going to buy your car today, in its present condition.
I just wanted to know a few more details before I paid for it and had it picked up.

Sorry I told you that my car is not the car for you. I was just being honest because of the brilliant questions that you asked, (and sorry for the typos, it was early and didn`t have any coffee yet.) I mean really? NOPE I`m not brilliant. Just tired of answering silly questions. Does it have "rust" on it and does the 45 year old car have any leaks? What the hell kind of question is that? What the hell was you expecting? Please show me photos of your 45 year old original sheet metal car. Pics of the trunk and trunk extensions for sure! It must just be STUNNING! (especially for 4 grand) lol........ All seriousness it is a very solid old car man. She runs good. It does need the bolts tightened from the manifold to the new exhaust and it`s weird, if it sits for a while (month or so) the passenger side brake grabs hard when you stop for a while and then comes out of it. The only other thing it needs is a plastic clip that holds the window on track. I haven`t looked at it yet, that is just what the man told me when I bought it. I have all of the original parts that come off from it as well. The choke isn`t hooked up so when it is cold you have to pump the crap out of it. Just needs little tinkering but turns heads, that is for sure!!!! It has never been driven or seen salt or on snowy streets. I trailered it home and moved it in and out of my garage a couple times. Even the fender mounted signals work!!! It has a new Edelbrock carb, aluminum intake, big aluminum radiator, battery, exhaust, fuel pump, alternator and the heads was just redone. To each their own I guess. Sorry for the misunderstanding..................By the questions you asked, I just didn`t think you would be happy with it.

Gotta side with fwi on this one. Honest questions and you gutted him. I would ask the same things no matter the price so you know what you're getting into. It is a good price by the way, but we don't know you or what's gonna roll off the transporter. Sales is all about the customer friend, and you probably lost one or two with your reply.

"By the questions you asked, I just didn`t think you would be happy with it."

Does that mean yes to all his questions?

For $4000, that's a nice 300!

Would not last 5 minutes here in Australia for anything less than $15K and they only cost $4K to import.......

Yes it is a HUGE piece of junk, rusty, leaks out from every orifice and is VERY unsafe. I decided to keep the old piece of rusty junk and pleasantly drive for a summer cruiser with my family. I`m a dishonest asshole who don`t know squat about Mopars and sell nothing but JUNK! This car has had the heads redone, new Edelbrock carb, new huge aluminum radiator, Edelbrock intake and I said before where it come from. Oh yeah, the paint is fairly new on the old turd as well. Hmmmm I have a 65,66 Chrysler, a 71 340 Duster one owner factory torred car and looking at a 66 Charger to go with my 63 330 2 door sedan. Was just going to try to thin the heard a bit and help someone looking for a neat solid old car for 4 grand which is a cheap way to get into the hobby and have a nice car but for the hassles of selling it simply isn`t worth it. You can clearly see how rusty and how bad of shape she is in by my pics. The Expedition is sold and am keeping my Cavi and rollback. Go ahead and lock the thread, thanks......
