I have found a 1978 413 RV engine complete and running, 38000 miles on it. What would an engine like this be worth? I would fit my 62 Fury but I would have to replace the 727 to a big block transmission. Any help would be appreciated. Deereman

Worth is a tough question when it comes used engines. Most guys wouldn't bother with a 413 when they can build a better badder 440 for less money. It's important not to confuse the displacement with the early Max Wedges since the # is # of cubes is about all they have in common. If you scored it for cheap and it runs good then slam it in your '62. Finding a descent '65 and down big block 727 is another story. Cores seem to usually go for $500.00 if you can find one.

Do the 440!
I did a 440 up like a 426 Max Wedge.

My 63 Polara is now at another shop after getting Fu$k3d for 4 1/2 years at another shop!

My car as it is at the new shop and the 440 based Max Wedge built for me by Dale Reed:

FWIW, I have a 1965 big block 727 available that is "plug and play". Already been updated for later model torque convertors, has deep pan and pickup, reverse manual valve body, new rubber mount, new in the box 3000 convertor or for extra bucks, a TA 3800 convertor, and a HUGE trans convertor made from a Mopar air conditioning condensor. I also have a freshly recored radiator for your car (1965 numbers). A box of all the stock parts comes with it. You are probably 200 miles from me.

Man,
That engine is a work of art! Nice
