I know, a very slim chance but I dropped a valve and scratched the cyl. wall. Does anyone have any +.040 pistond for a 440 they would like to sell ? Thanks

I’d have a Ross forged
It’s probably 2.06 compression distance Thatskinda normal for big block race pistons

Thank you Moparguy, I'm going to sit down on saturday and see which heads I'm able to get and I will certainly let you know by Monday. How much for the Ross +.040 pistons and are they used ? Thanks

I’ll have to get back to you

Thanks, I tried 440 Source, they only have flat tops, I need one with a .140 dome to fill up the 906 chamber

Sounds like you're looking for a L2295F .040
Is that what it says on the piston top?

I do not see any number on the top of the piston, only a forging number on the underside of the dome. I guess everyone scrapped all there old blown up motor parts when the price of scrap was up and China was buying it all up !

Thanks and that would be great but mine has a .140 dome that goes up into the 906 chamber. I need that .140 dome ! I'm wondering if these were some special Stock/Superstock pistons from back in the day. I was told Jim Bailey had his hands in this motor, he used to race NHRA.

See the above^^^

There were no domed piston superstock 440s.
Post a pic! If you want people to know what you're asking for.
It sounds like a TRW L2295 you're after.

Sorry, I wish I could post a pic but I don't know how, but I did find a number barely on one of the piston tops ! #1758P is the number and the piston is forged with the big STD. pin. Thanks for trying to help

I found a pic on ebay just like my piston #1758P, it says it's just like 2295F TRW. I'm calling the place in Lansing Mich. called Johnson's Speed Warehouse to see if they might have what I'm looking for. Even if they don't have +.040, I'll take a +.030 and sleeve the bad cyl. so I can put this junk back together !
