There is a lot of talk about Stealth vs Eddy vs Indy SR/EZ heads, but anybody running the 440-1 heads? I know they are for bigger displacement strokers, is the kit a good set-up out of the box?

Chris Superstockracer ran them

There is a guy here that ran them Chris Superstockracer I believe ran/runs them... Most anything INDY is good/great out of the box, you pay the price for that quality, you usually need to run their valve train stuff or specialty stuff, like custom push rod lengths, offset rockers & shafts etc., external oiling, special headers {raised exhaust ports}, large Max Wedge port intakes etc... Top quality stuff though... I haven't run any Indy stuff for a while now... Just economics... I'm freaken broke...

I am going to give you a good word of advice.Don't buy them directly thru ICH period.Their customer service sucks ***.Order them through Modern cylinder head or Dwayne Porter. An Indy EZ head cnc to maxwedge ports will usually make more power than than most factory rb blocks can handle! They are capable of 800hp.If you are going to do a low deck race or serious hot rod the -1 are the choice. They will need porting, proper valve job,and matching springs.Don't waste your time with the indy rocker arms.I see alot of them being boxed up and sent back. There is a thread over on moparts race only section from porter racing on -1.Its posted by fast68plymouth wich is porter, has lots of good info on various heads.Check it out.The thread is bb head data.

They are not just for stokers either. They also work well for high rev stock stroke motors. I run them on my stock stroke 452ci with a big roller cam and made power up to about 73-7400 rpm. They are best for applications that like to breath... or motors that pump alot of air. I also agree with the comment about Indy service attitude...

I agree with both guys on the EZ 440 Head from ICH and yes by elsewhere as they have terrible attitude problems over there!!!

On my 68b Dart.
4.15 stroker 400 with SR heads.
.700 lift roller cam
Pulls to 7400 rpm's

Not to bad for a pump gas 440.
