440 60 over your opinions

Any opinions on a 60 over 1968 440 with a 10/10 crank? It has been line honed also. All work done by a quality machinist. Will there be any heating issues or weakness introduced being 60 over?

Most will have the block sonic tested when going.060 just for insurance. But it's been done a lot without any problems. Jmo

I expect a '69 block is good for 60 bore.

Install a good radiator and ENJOY it!

Well it does depend upon how much power yer gunna throw at it. The "pro-streeter" moniker makes me think we could be lookin' at pavement ripper attempt.

I concur with others, a serious build should include the sonic check. There is a large variation in block castings.

Sonic is the only way to know. Might be great, might be junk. All depends on core shift.

buy a goood water pump too, i have Milodon, by buddy went 440 source, his let go on a cruise last night, and needed a tow home, he is still pissed...

I'm in the mix of doing the same only with a 75 block,going 60 over n using 10.5 pistons,with the heat expansion on pistons and a harden crank n rocker arm shafts etc all balanced n just going to go with a 272,274 cam.

Back in the mid '80's I sonic checked a dozen blocks. The 73 & later were a bit thinner. Not sure that is much of an issue, Mopar iron is a lot stronger than bowtie stuff.
