Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the correct part number for the balancer needed when you are running the 908 connecting rods and what number you need for the 535 rods?

Thanks

Can't find the part numbers but here's some pics
Orange is 70-71 for 908 rods with external balancing.
Red is for typical 535 LY rods with internal balance.
72 and up with 908 rods lost the external balancing and uses the typical 535 rod balancer

I have this list but I don't know if it's all inclusive or correct

Big Block Harmonic Balancers

2658457 1958-1971 All B & RB engines
3512017 1970-1971 440 6BBL and '71 440 High Performance
3577180 1971 383 2 barrel (cast crank)
3614371 1972-1973 400 Forged Crank

72 and up B/RB dampers use a different pulley bolt pattern.

Bear in mind, part numbers are very useful. But as far as I know, the harmonic balancers do not bear any part numbers. So you have to identify the one you want, visually. That table on the 440-source website is pretty good and should help you find what you need. If not, we're here to help.
