So I have a 68 Charger I am building a 440 for and plan to install a T56 6 speed mainly for gas milage and top end. How ever I need to acquire advice from any body whom has done a Tremec swap in an old school Mopar behind an old school Big Block

Any paticular reason for the six gear over the five? I've done a few in non Mopar apps and it is a big tranny. Done a couple of five gears in Mopar apps and it requires some cutting to get your angles correct.

Cut the top off of the trans tunnel from the pinch welds/flange on floor/firewall on the front portion back to the transmission cross member. Down on both sides to the floor.
When your done with the install weld flanges on the floor then drill and tap it for so the tunnel top can be bolted back together and removed when access is needed. It's a very tight fit. This is the way I did my 64 Fury. Good Luck!

Are all t56 the same?
All you would need is the bell housing to fit your motor.

There's a couple of t56 for sale locally. One is out of a 02 trans am ram air
