i got no idea what the weight is or if that even matters? i have heard that fastenal ships pallet items ? any members here that can weigh in on the process?

Fastenal is the way to go ! You need to get the store code from the store you shipping from and the store your shipping to. Then you need a close to weight. (with skid) as it needs to be mounted to a wooden skid.
The buyer can go on line to get a quote from them also. I am in the proeses of shipping a short block now and it's not very hard to do.

A 440 bare block with main caps is approx 225 lbs.

RB engine blocks are 235 lbs with main caps. B engines are 225 lbs.
