Almost done with a '68 Sport Satellite, and spent a couple of years chasing down the parts needed to swap the small block for a 440. The car was a 318 from the factory, but had a 360/727 from an early 70's Dodge truck when I found it. The 440 exhaust manifolds (stock, cast iron) have flat flanges, and the 360 manifolds were bell shaped (ala donut) at the flange. The body shop cut the exhaust pipes under the floorboards to remove the drivetrain, so I have two nicely sawn exhaust pipes with the belled (loose) flanges to mate to the flat flanges on the 440 manifolds. They actually match up very well, but is there any way to hook them up - at least temporarily - so I can get it to the nearest muffler shop? Is there (or is there supposed to be) a donut-style steel insert to seal this? It's my first Mopar big block adventure, and I'd appreciate any input. Thanks a million!

I believe that they use a flat gasket. It's been 40 years since my ex manifolds got put in storage in favor of headers on my '68 RR. Yes, I still have them, and the car too. You may just have to use ear plugs to get to the shop!

The BB MoPar manifolds used a flat gasket. At least the HP manifolds did for sure.
