So, im curious. What are the horsepower/torque estimates for my 440 are.
Dynosim 6 say 590 but I think that's quite high. I'm thinking closer to 500-525. So what's your thoughts?

Thanks!

77 440. Wiesco pistons measured 9.84:1.
Trick flow 240 heads
1.6 mancini rockers
Comp xe 285hl cam.. .545 lift 241/247 @.050
Edelbrock rpm intake
850 brawler carb.
Msd ignition.
tti 2in headers

I would say around 550-560. I just had my 440 rebuilt and dynoed and it's similar to yours.

Numbers matching '68 440 (stock stroke, 9.6:1)
Stealth heads (ported by KG Engines)
Comp 284 cam (240/247, .507/.510)
Comp Pro Magnum rockers
Edelbrock CH4B intake
Holley 850 carb
TTI 1 3/4" headers

Engine made 525hp /530tq. Head porter and engine builder said that I'm giving up 25-30 hp by staying with the CH4B and not going with a Performer RPM, but I'm limited on hood clearance. So that would put me 550ish with the RPM. Your 2in primaries and touch more compression may add a few hp up top. Not sure how the Trick Flow heads flow compared to the ported Stealths but I would assume similar (I'm a little over 300 CFM).

550hp would be my guess. On the street it may like a 1 7/8 header more unless you have deep gears and a stall.

Back track it from the trickflow dyno mule. It made around 610 620 but with a higher rpm intake and a bit more lift roller cam. 10.5 compression. I would say the upper 500's

A street dominator and some 1 7/8 headers would put you right up there.Just the intake swap would be worth a comparison.

I've wondered if 1 7/8 headers wouldn't be better but I already had the 2 in that were jet hot coated. The converter is a 3k stall and 3.55 gear. A little more gear probably wouldn't hurt.

I wonder if the cam spec you provided are for 1.5 rocker ratio? 1.6 would likely change the guessers HP numbers.

My vote is around 500HP

Yes the specs are for 1.5 rockers. With the 1.6 i think the lift was .581

We've run a similar combo in a Duster with but with box stock Eddy heads and a 3.91 gear. It runs 11.80's
