Hello all! Pardon me if this has been asked to death but I am new to the site(about 2 hours ago) and I have just bought my first ever pre-66 b body. The car is complete minus motor and trans. Just wondering what to expect when installing a 440 and non cable shift 727 into this car. Motor mounts? Schumacher stuff? Trans mount? Linkage? You guys have a great site here. Thanks for having me and thanks in advance for any info on my swap!! Cory

You won't need anything out of the ordinary! You can use the original K-Member,and trans. mount. You will need a shifter set up! Your car had cables,Maybe swap a 66-67 steering column with shift.use 68-72 B-body exhaust manifolds or headers (TTI).Good luck with the project!and post pics. during the build.

Hey thanks, Steve! This morning I finally found some of this info on the web. Sounds like the only weird part is the trans/steering column part. I will be posting my belvedere this evening. Not much to look at yet, but is a great starting point. Does the site prefer I post pics in this section or another?

Late 62/65 big block mounts, the early 62 K frame is different but will work with the correct bracket..

Hey Hosehead ,i have a 65 Belvedere with a poly ,so i will be looking forward to seeing the pics ,and the progress

Just taking a break from tearing it apart right now. Will post some photos this evening. :hello2:

If you put a 66-up 727 trans then u will need the Shumacher trans mount for the swap also. Their 62-65 B-Body RB swap mounts work great.

don't forget the pile of cash and the
disc brakes. i am in the middle of same in a 64 440 that came with a poly.
