Hey, guys. Little help if you please. I'm putting a set SRP flat top pistons with no markings and valve reliefs that look identical into my 440 block. Can anyone tell me how to detect the correct orientation on the pistons? I understand the valve relief "eyebrows" go toward the inside of the block. But it's tough to tell which valve relief is exhaust/intake. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If the valve reliefs are different sizes for I and E then go by the heads to determine where the pistons go. Is the piston pin centered in the piston or offset? If offset pins then the short side of the piston goes to the outside of the block (or can be flipped bank to bank so the short side faces the lifter valley). The latter is said to reduce friction as stated in the performance book.
