Is anybody using the 440 source aluminum valve covers? Just wondering what people's opinion on them are? My stock stamped steel ones with rubber gaskets are leaky old junk.

I'm also a bit concerned for height for the application of the engine. Might contact the brake booster. Anyone have any recommendations for good sealing v covers?

I've been looking at the 440 source ones and the Hughes ones.

Just trying to see whats easiest for mounting a breather and pcv valve into however.

I see 440 source has this http://store.440source.com/Billet-Aluminum-Breather-Adapter/productinfo/121-1057/

Looks like you punch a hole in the valve cover screw this in and it would act as a baffle and a place to put your grommet and then breather and or pcv valve.

I would not go with a flat bottom valve cover to help a leaking problem. My limited experiance has been that the flat bottom aftermarket covers are more difficult to seal than an OEM style with the lip that wraps around the gasket.

Also call me paranoid, but I'm not sure I could be comfortable with those baffle / filler necks that have a nut on the inside holding them on. "IF" , and I'm sure its a stretch, but if, it ever came loose, that nut could make a mess of the valve train and motor in short order?

here ya go....40 buxx on ebay....fel-pro gaskets and a touch of bloo-goo.... got em on my 440 and my 383....aint leaked yet! 440 source is SERIOUSLY expensive!

Very nice, I may go with those ebay ones. Did they come with the t bar studs?

yeah they came with the t-bar studs. you may have to cut about 3/8 off the threads. i put a nut on...cut it.. geround the end to a semi-point....and threaded the nut off to chase the threads. they were a bit too long and bottomed out b4 they they could tighten.....hence the cutting! took about 10 minutes to do 12 :hello2:
