i have two 440s both have different bolts that go into the bar hold downs some have bigger washers others have smaller ones did notice that the hole in the center of all bars is smaller than the outer holes, what are the factory bolts used...bigger washers or smaller or combo of both...

On my 383 the washer is built into the bolt, on my 440 I use stainless ARP and the washer is the same size as the bolt head maybe a tiny tiny bit larger but not noticeable.

it looks as if it could have came with one bolt with the larger washer in the middle of each hold down and the rest with the smaller ones, there is enough to do bothe 440s that way, seem odd it would work out that way, need to fined a factory pic....

Don't worry about if the center hole is a tad smaller....use the same hold down screws on all 3 holes. Just screw in the center one first. I think I know why they did that but even that doesn't make much sense to me unless machining tolerances were really that bad back then.

Should all be 1/4-20's with the captured washer.
