440 water pump pulley question

hey ya'll,

I need a water pump pulley, I dont know whether I should use a double groove or single groove pulley. My alternator has a double groove pulley and I have seen people run 2 identical belts. I would assume that two is better than one.

My engine is a 440 with no a/c or p/s

Get a matched set of single groove pulley's and use the alternator groove that lines up with the water pump pulley.

The 2nd groove on the crank pulley is for the power steering

You can borrow a puller form auto parts stores and find a single pulley for alternator and put it on.
