Hi all, I'm converting a 65 coronet from automatic to a 4 speed here soon.
I have all parts, but need to find out where the frame side ball bracket bolts to. I have done this on an A-body, which is pretty straight forward due to the hole being pre drilled for the ball stud, even auto cars.
Does anybody have a detailed pic of an original stick car of the z-bar and frame side ball bracket mounted on the car?I understand it's hard to take pics with the engine in, but any help is appreciated! Thanks

Its been a few years since i messed with mine. Iirc you get to the nut to tighten in through the left wheel well. There was a slot in the frame for it.

Does your '65 frame bracket have 3 bolt holes in the bracket? I can get an easy pix of my '62 /6 B body (supposedly the same as the V8's in that year) if you like. PM me if you want this... I'll likely forget to re-check here!

Isn't this a diagram for a body? My frame rail doesn't look like that.

rally, go to BREWERS website, I think 65 has a little different mounting location than the 64. good luck

Just went through this a week ago. Frame side is a ball stud mounting plate with three studs that bolt to frame.Brewers is the place.Very good people.

Should be right above brake lines

Here are pix form my '62. The ball mount bracket is the piece with the curled edge almost hidden behind the end of the z-bar; it is orieneted so the ball is to the bottom and front. The 2nd pix shows the bolts from the wheel well side of the chassis; they are self tappers that go into tacked nuts or holes on the ball mount plate; you can see the end of the bolts sticking through on the 1st pix above and behind the z-bar lever arm.

Cool beans; glad to help. What part of WV are you in? I am in the Shenandoah Valley area.

Well howdy neighbor....sorta! My '62 Dart was orignally bought new down the road from you in Winchester, and lived 52 years in Luray in the same garage.
