I'll be in the swap meet area with the 66 Charger. Don't forget to stop by and say hi.......and buy a hemi Charger.

Back home from the Flaming Fling and had a great time as usual (truck thermometer said 106 today at noon). 68 Sport Sat rode down with me and was a huge help in getting the swap meet space set up, etc.. We also had plenty of quality music for the ride. The new 3500 diesel did everything it was expected to do and more. And I enjoyed meeting DennisH and Moparcrazy from here. Also met / saw again a few non FBBO people - good to see Vanessa again from Wildcat Auto Wrecking!

Saturday we drove the Charger to the Bob's Big Boy cruise in and hung out with more MoPar people. Then I saw the Argentinian restaurant across the parking lot and our dinner plans were decided. Man, what a find that place was!

As usual I didn't take one picture but the unofficial event photographer 68 Sport Sat did and I'm sure he will post some.

If it's this hot next year I'm bringing my boat, skipping the Sunday event and instead going water skiing in Pyramid lake on the way home.

I had a great time as well. I drove my red 70 Charger down from Northern CA along with my brother in law.
The temps were hotter than expected. When the show is held in June the chances of a 100 degree day are almost impossible. I live near Sacramento and 100 degree days are common in the summer, so it wasn't as if I were about to fade away.
The CPW club does a great job of coordinating the event and the supporting activities. I enjoy the show, but the cruise-in, the Malibu drive and the parking lot banter at the Air-Tel really enhances the show.
Sunday REALLY dropped off at the show. It could have been the heat, Mothers day probably was partially responsible too. I've found that they usually have a drop off in cars, swappers and attendance on Sunday anyways. So what. It is still a great time and bigger than any other show on this side of the country.

Had a killer time at my first Van Nuys Mopar Spring Fling event! Boy was it hot though! Thank goodness Meep-Meep brought the shade tent and on Sunday we parked next to DPstark's setup so we were able to take advantage of some trailer shade in the morning. Thanks to Meep-Meep for all the driving and I was able to sell a few things to fund my build too. I agree- next time let's bring the boat for the way back! Really cool to also meet up with Dennis H., his buddy John who's helped me on my car, DPstark2, and several other LA locals who were really cool to talk with. It's the people that make events like this so awesome.

Here's a few photos. Enjoy!

Hey, lookey there, a boat! I think I spent a total of 5 mins in the show and somehow missed the boat (bad pun). Too bad because I would have loved to check it out.

cool Mopar show & thanks for all the photos 68 Sport Satellite, the official photographer...

Hey thanks for the pix 68Sport. You actually captured my car - the orange (Tor Red) 70 Roadrunner hiding in the background in your shot of the beautiful metallic gray 70 "restified" Roadrunner. That's actually a Steve Strope car which was used in the movie Fast and Furious 4. It's not the "Hammer", but looks just like it in the movie sense. It belongs to a local guy here who I see all the time at a Saturday morning "show" in my neighborhood. It's a complete Bill Reilly suspension car with a pro-street setup thru and thru. The Forgeline wheels alone are worth about what I hope to spend on my engine!

Nice! Glad I could capture some of the FBBO member cars. Next time maybe I will have time to meet more drivers. These photos were from a quick walk through. We were pretty busy at the swap meet.
