Looks like just something to hang on to while leaning back in a lazy boy :D looks comfy in there.. :D
 
Looks like the coveted push button setup some of the legendary dragger's had back in the day? I have PB in my '63 Plymouth - only automatic I would have in my old ride, lot's of fun using the typewriter drive or punch box as others called it as I do cherish a good old 4 speed missing it.

The small steering wheel was never an issue, even at 140+mph.
Yes, the pushbutton tower was because the car was originally a 1963 Max Wedge Liteweight with, of course, a pushbutton torqueflite. I fabricated the tower to house the pushbutton mechanism and it worked great.
